New for 2026: Chef’s Table Feasts at Truro Food Festival

Thirty guests. One table. Three very different feasts.

This September, we’re bringing something completely new to Truro Food Festival with our first Chef’s Table Feasts – three intimate evenings of food, fire, music and stories inside our new Chef’s Tipi on Lemon Quay.

Taking place from 7pm–9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, each night will see a different chef take over the kitchen and cook a three-course feast for just 30 guests.

The lights will be down, the Big Green Eggs will be fired up and the bar will be open. You’ll start the evening with a welcome drink before sitting down around the table to eat, drink and spend an evening with the people behind the food.

And, as with so much of Truro Food Festival, collaboration sits right at the heart of it. For two of our visiting chefs, Woodfired Canteen Cornwall will be joining them in the kitchen, bringing their local knowledge, team and experience of cooking over fire to help bring the evenings together.

This isn’t a restaurant popping up at the festival. We want it to feel more like being invited around the table.

Thursday: Bango Kitchen – Pan-Asian Feast

We kick things off on Thursday night with Bango Kitchen, bringing their bold Pan-Asian cooking to the Chef’s Tipi.

Expect a menu built for sharing, plenty coming from the fire and a relaxed first night around the table as Lemon Quay settles into the evening.

Friday: Nisha Parmar x Woodfired Canteen – Indian-inspired BBQ Feast

On Friday, Nisha Parmar takes over the tipi for an Indian-inspired barbecue feast, with Cornwall’s Woodfired Canteen joining her in the kitchen.

Nisha is travelling to Cornwall especially for the festival, so we loved the idea of pairing her with a local team who know a thing or two about cooking over fire.

Together, Nisha and Woodfired Canteen will combine the flavours and spices at the heart of her cooking with charcoal and live-fire cooking on the Big Green Egg.

You’ll be able to watch the food coming together just metres from the table, making the cooking – and the people doing it – part of the evening.

Saturday: matblak x Woodfired Canteen – A taste of New Zealand and Māori food culture

Saturday brings another collaboration, as matblak joins forces with Woodfired Canteen for our final Chef’s Table Feast.

matblak will bring a taste of New Zealand and Māori food culture to Lemon Quay, with fire, food and storytelling all playing their part.

And food is only part of this one.

The evening will be about gathering around the table, sharing a meal and hearing the stories and traditions behind the dishes, with matblak and the Woodfired Canteen team cooking over fire throughout the night.

It feels like a fitting way to round off our first year of Chef’s Table Feasts – different people and food cultures coming together in Cornwall, cooking and sharing stories around the same table.

Fire at the heart of all three nights

Our partners at Big Green Egg will be taking centre stage throughout the Chef’s Table Feasts.

Each chef will have the EGGs at their disposal, bringing charcoal and live-fire cooking into all three menus and giving you the chance to see – and smell – dinner being cooked just metres from the table.

Add some live music, the glow of the tipi, a drink in hand and Lemon Quay just outside, and these should feel very different from the daytime festival.

That’s exactly what we want.

We’ve wanted to bring this kind of experience to Truro Food Festival for a while.

A smaller table. More time with the chefs. Food cooked over fire. Stories shared. Glasses raised.

We can’t wait to welcome the first guests around the table.
