Established in 1985, every small batch is made using carefully selected ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible, with everything from preparing the fruit to filling the jars and applying the labels done by hand.

Expect a delicious selection including Chilli Jelly, Spiced Plum and Rum Jam, Cornish Strawberry Extra Jam and Luxury Orange Marmalade. For Truro, their Kea Plum Jam takes centre stage, made with plums grown just outside the city, alongside seasonal favourites such as Strawberry & Champagne Jam. Bringing a taste of traditional Cornish sweetness to Truro Food Festival, Nanny Wendy’s Cornish Fudge Kitchen is a family-run business crafting handmade fudge with love, care and plenty of passion. The story began with Nanny Wendy in 2018, before the Phelan family took over the spoon and continued her much-loved recipes and high standards from their home in Bude.

Today, the family still makes their fudge by hand, combining the traditions Wendy passed down with an ever-growing selection of delicious flavours. From classic favourites to newer creations, expect rich, indulgent Cornish fudge and a family business proudly keeping Nanny Wendy’s legacy alive.

THE JAM KITCHEN

Bringing small-batch artisan preserves made right here in Truro to Truro Food Festival, The Jam Kitchen began with 60 jars of homemade plum jam created by Jon as wedding favours for his guests. What started as a simple idea grew into a passion for making traditional preserves using high fruit content, seasonal ingredients and absolutely no preservatives, artificial colours or shortcuts.

Every jar is still made by Jon himself, with the range earning Gold and Silver at the 2024 Taste of the West Awards. Sustainability is just as important, with The Jam Kitchen remaining plastic-free from day one. Expect delicious jams, marmalades and lemon curds, all carefully made in small batches with proper ingredients and plenty of passion.

HONEY

SPRING COTTAGE

Bringing the natural flavours of the Cornish countryside to Truro Food Festival, Spring Cottage Honey produces raw, unfiltered honey using traditional beekeeping methods passed down through generations. Beekeeper David first became fascinated by his family’s bees as a child and now keeps his own colonies across Mid-Cornwall, producing distinctive honeys that reflect the landscapes and flowers surrounding each hive.

Harvested in small, single-apiary batches rather than blended together, the range includes everything from dark Heather Honey and silky soft-set honey to delicate borage and golden summer meadow varieties. Alongside fresh honeycomb straight from the hive, expect beeswax products, gift boxes and plenty of opportunities to discover just how varied real Cornish honey can be.
